My first bear this season
I saw my first bear this season on the ranch yesterday. He was a good sized cinnamon with black paws. He was around 300 pounds. He was walking down my driveway and I saw him as I came around a corner. He looked over his shoulder at me and picked up his pace a little. He left the driveway and took off through my pasture. I had my camera so I tried to get a picture. But as usual, he was gone before I could get the shot.
I have been seeing bear tracks down at my pond since around the middle of May, but this was the first sighting. I have three dogs at the house and they are pretty good at keeping them out of my yard and off the deck.
They have been all over town already this summer. Whenever you drive through town and see the large trash cans turned over it's almost certain to be bears.
